You may have noticed that the North and East side of the roundabout was damaged over Christmas (facing No 19, 20 and down the hill). This was caused by the council refuse vehicle driving over the edge of the roundabout and the council have susequently admitted responsibility for the damage.

After speaking with Jane Corfield from the Heritage Dept the council are planning to repair the damage.  I'm still waiting to hear when this is likely to be. As a number of the foundation stones have been dislodged this is probably going to require the removal of  a considerable number of the stones above.

So if you see any building activity in the next few weeks which involves the roundabout,  it may be the council resetting the dislodged stones.

Tis done, but as with complicated machinery, there are always parts left over afterwards! In this case Simon rescued some stone that the workmen were chucking on their lorry. If needs be we might be able to adjust the repair.
